Indonesian Ambassador to Cuba learns about rice cultivation in Mayarí

embajadora de indonseiaHer Excellency Mrs. Nina Yuliana, Indonesian ambassador to Cuba, exchanged on Sunday on rice cultivation in Mayari as part of a working visit to Holguin province.

At the training center of the agricultural company Guatemala, the distinguished visitor received detailed information about the investments for the cultivation of this cereal in the northeast of the province.

As part of the tour, she saw the areas benefited by these plantations in the Cooperative of Agricultural Production October Revolution, where Miguel Pousada Rodríguez, president of this entity, assured that the use of various types of seeds and a growing culture in the management of soils make possible good results.

Accompanied by Geovanis Martín Gutiérrez, municipal mayor of Mayarí, the Indonesian ambassador in Cuba, proposed to think of a tourist route that goes through the cooperatives, in view of the international experience that assures that tourists avoid big cities because of the threats generated by the concentration of people.

Her Excellency Nina Yuliana said that the impact of the new Sars-cov 2 coronavirus has imposed a new form of tourism that stimulates travel to rural areas and mountains, making rice cultivation a growing attraction.
