The public health authorities in Mayari organized a massive health intervention with the Abdala vaccination candidate at 40 points distributed among the 19 Popular Councils of the territory.
This was referred to this Monday by Dr. Raudel García Estopiñán, municipal director of the branch, who added that the process is expected to begin in the second half of June and that people between 60 and 69 years of age will receive the immunogen, always on a voluntary basis.
The doctor added that this Monday the application of the second dose of the Abdala vaccine candidate will begin to the more than 4,000 people who participated in the first health intervention, designed mainly for people who work in public health and other risk groups.
In the usual radio intervention, García Estopiñán informed about a new case of COVID-19 diagnosed in Mayarí in the last hours.
On this occasion, the real-time PCR positive is a 12 year-old boy, neighbor of the Primero de Enero neighborhood, with no source of infection specified.
To date, Mayari has accumulated 186 cases of the pandemic so far in 2021 and 227 people are currently in 8 isolation centers.
